1.1 - LEAN SIX SIGMA METHODOLOGY

Six Sigma is a Management Improvement methodology starting from the customer needs, internal and external, and from the use of a logical and rational sequence of management and data analysis tools, aiming process improvement in the organization. In other words, it is the sum of the “voice of the people”, i.e., the knowledge of them (technical and business) with the voice of the process (data) to obtain action plans (changes) more adequate and sustainable.

The Lean philosophy seeks to eliminate wastes, i.e., all of the stuffs the customer does not recognize as value. It puts focus in studying the value chain, aiming to decrease the eight classical wastes: defects in the products, excessive production, high intermediate stocks (WIP – work in process), unnecessary work, excessive material and people moving, unnecessary transportation and lead times. For that, the Lean utilizes tools strongly based in the teamwork and in the people discipline. Thus, it creates fast changes but its power of analysis is superficial (strongly based in qualitative tools).

The Lean Six Sigma links the analytical and rational analisys of the Six Sigma with the easiness and speed of the Lean to higher generation of wealth and value in the companies (increment of EVA – Economic Value Added analysis).

1.2 - SIX SIGMA METHODOLOGY

Business Management Methodology that starts from the customer needs, internal and external, and uses a logical and rational sequence of management tools and data analysis. It acts in the continuous improvements of the processes in the organization. In other words, it is the sum of the “people’s voice”, i.e., the knowledge of them (technical + business) with the “voice of the process” (data) to obtain action plans (changes) more adequate and sustainable.

The Seta – Management Development customizes the methodology as necessary to each business aiming to help the process performance and to aggregate value to the customers.

Among the trainings, developed and customized by Seta, it is pointed out:

1.3 - DESIGN FOR SIX SIGMA – DFSS (DEVELOPMENT OF NEW PROCESS AND PRODUCT)

Training for implementing Six Sigma methodology for the development of a new process, product or service starting with high performance. The Design for Six Sigma appears as a powerful tool to reduce development and implementation costs of projects avoiding re-working, i.e., it puts focus on “doing right at the first time”.

1.4 - MANAGEMENT BY PROCESSES

They are trainings that aim to create a culture of improvement of existing processes in the organization, by means of the use of methodologies and tools to identify the opportunities. With this culture, the company will earn improvements in relation of current situation, aggregating more value to the stakeholder – EVA (Economic Value Added)

In general, the courses are applied to the organizations that are initiating the implementation of a culture of improvement of processes.
